Why this matters

One paycheck can support your life. Ownership can help create more options.

An additional income stream can mean a stronger financial buffer, more room for the goals that matter and less dependence on a single employer. Earning more should not have to mean working another shift, or building a business completely alone.

Save for later

Build greater financial flexibility for savings and retirement, alongside the career you already have.

Create room for family goals

Make more progress toward a home, education, travel or the priorities that matter to you.

Build something of your own

Develop an income stream connected to genuine ownership — not only to the hours you work.

Outcomes vary. Some businesses may earn less than expected or may not become profitable.

The model

A business you own, with an operating team behind it.

Starting an online business normally requires separate teams for research, website development, advertising, fulfilment, customer support, reporting and administration. Second Income connects qualified owners in Germany with operating partners that can provide these services under written agreements.

You do not simply lend your name or sign documents. You become the owner, understand the business, retain access and oversee the important decisions.

Specialist execution

Operating partners support agreed functions such as marketing, fulfilment, customer service, technology and administration.

Limited routine workload

The model is designed around oversight rather than personally running every department, but the role is not completely passive.

Owner compensation

How you are paid as owner

The business generates revenue and pays its operating costs. You are paid under your written agreement, and remaining profit is distributed to the other parties under the agreements.

$1,000/month average compensation

Contractual compensation

Agreed in writing before you accept. Appointed owners are compensated around $1,000 per month on average, with the level set per opportunity.

Performance-linked bonus

Not guaranteed. Where a bonus applies, it is defined in your agreement for that specific business.

Costs the business pays before any distribution

  • Advertising and customer-acquisition costs
  • Product, fulfilment or service-delivery costs
  • Customer-support and operating expenses
  • Refunds and chargebacks
  • Reserves and partner fees
  • Applicable taxes and other obligations

Compensation and performance income vary by business and market conditions. Some businesses may earn little above the agreed compensation or may not become profitable.

Economics

How owner compensation works

Customer revenue is received by the business. The company pays its documented expenses, including advertising, fulfilment, refunds, chargebacks, reserves, taxes and agreed service-provider fees.

Appointed owners are compensated under a written agreement, averaging around $1,000 per month across current owners. The level varies by opportunity — vertical, workload and number of clients — and a performance-linked bonus may be agreed on top. You receive the complete compensation structure in writing before you accept a specific business.

Remaining profit is distributed to the other parties under the written agreements. Some businesses may become meaningfully profitable. Others may generate less than expected or may not become profitable.

Appointed owners are compensated around $1,000/month on average, set per opportunity in writing. Individual compensation varies by opportunity and is not guaranteed.

Existing entities

Already own a German company?

Previous business ownership may make you a stronger applicant. An existing company can demonstrate experience with banking, taxes, reporting or payment processing.

However, the entity must be reviewed for ownership, tax filings, debts, litigation, prior business activity, banking history and payment-processing history. In many cases, using a separate company for a new business may still be preferable.

Responsibilities and risks

Supported ownership — not passive income.

Operating partners can perform most routine execution, but they do not replace the owner. You must understand the business, maintain access, review reporting, participate truthfully in formal onboarding and approve material decisions.
