The model

A business you own, with an operating team behind it.

Starting an online business normally requires separate teams for research, website development, advertising, fulfilment, customer support, reporting and administration. Second Income connects qualified owners in the United States with operating partners that can provide these services under written agreements.

You do not simply lend your name or sign documents. You become the owner, understand the business, retain access and oversee the important decisions.

Economics

How owner income works

Customer revenue is received by the business. The company pays its documented expenses, including advertising, fulfilment, refunds, chargebacks, reserves, taxes and agreed service-provider fees.

The owner's compensation and economic participation vary by opportunity. You receive the complete compensation structure in writing before you accept a specific business.

Some businesses may become meaningfully profitable. Others may generate less than expected or may not become profitable.

Earnings are not guaranteed. Results depend on approval, business performance, advertising, operating expenses, fulfilment, refunds, chargebacks, reserves, taxes and market conditions. Some businesses may earn less or may not become profitable.

Existing entities

Already own a U.S. company?

Previous business ownership may make you a stronger applicant. An existing company can demonstrate experience with banking, taxes, reporting or payment processing.

However, the entity must be reviewed for ownership, tax filings, debts, litigation, prior business activity, banking history and payment-processing history. In many cases, using a separate company for a new business may still be preferable.

Responsibilities and risks

Supported ownership — not passive income.

Operating partners can perform most routine execution, but they do not replace the owner. You must understand the business, maintain access, review reporting, participate truthfully in formal onboarding and approve material decisions.

  • Do not sign blank or unexplained documents.
  • Do not share passwords, PINs or one-time authentication codes.
  • Do not approve products, transactions or activities you do not understand.
  • Keep contact and compliance information current.
  • Review periodic business and financial reports.
  • Escalate unusual or unexplained activity.
  • Meet applicable legal and tax responsibilities.
  • Obtain independent advice when appropriate.
